Apparel preview
Let shoppers see an eligible garment on their photo
ProductTryOn uses existing catalog photography to generate an on-body visualization. Merchants control availability, presentation, and the shopper-facing privacy message from one workspace.
How it works
1
Connect the catalog
Install the Shopify app, sync products, and select the apparel that should offer try-on.
2
Collect a shopper photo
The storefront block explains the photo requirements and processing before the shopper continues.
3
Generate and measure
Display the AI-created visualization and record generation and post-preview add-to-cart activity.
Merchant controls
- Enable or disable individual catalog products.
- Customize the trigger text, accent color, and placement.
- Preview the experience before publishing it to the theme.
- Review generation health and usage activity.
What the preview is not
The generated image is a style visualization. It does not measure the shopper, recommend a size, or guarantee garment fit, dimensions, texture, color, or drape. Merchants should test each enabled product.
Frequently asked questions
- How does apparel virtual try-on work?
- A shopper selects an eligible product, uploads a clear front-facing photo, and requests a preview. ProductTryOn securely sends the shopper photo and the merchant's catalog image to its AI processor, then displays the generated visualization.
- Do merchants need 3D product models?
- No. The current experience uses the primary catalog image selected through the Shopify product sync. Clear, front-facing garment photography produces the most consistent results.
- What clothing is supported?
- The current release is intended for common apparel such as tops, bottoms, and one-piece garments. Merchants choose which products are eligible and should test their own catalog before publishing.
- Does the preview guarantee size or fit?
- No. The result is a visual representation, not a sizing, measurement, or fit guarantee. ProductTryOn tells shoppers this in the experience and lets merchants add their own guidance.
